Alpharetta

Alpharetta is located about 15 miles north of Interstate 285, making it an OTP, or “outside the perimeter”, suburb of Atlanta. Incorporated as a city in 1858, Alpharetta has become a major hub for businesses and companies that employ more than 120,000 people. Over 700 tech-based companies have offices in Alpharetta, including LexisNexis, Hewlett Packard, and Microsoft. Forbes has named Alpharetta as the number one city to relocate to, based on such data as the number of people who moved there for a job and changes in school enrollment. Alpharetta public schools are part of the Fulton County Schools district, one of the top-performing districts in Georgia. With a wide range of community amenities, including parks, annual festivals, shopping, and the world-class Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, Alpharetta has good reason to attract homebuyers. A new neighbor to the north, Milton, was carved out of unincorporated parts of Fulton County and became a city through legislative action in December 2006.
